The Texarkana metro spans the state line, and the best verified public pickleball hub is just across it at Southwest Center in Texarkana, Texas. Southwest Center currently has six lighted outdoor courts and weekly recreational pickleball activities, with eight additional courts still described by the city as under construction for later in 2026.
Where to Play
Southwest Center
3222 W 7th Street, Texarkana, TX 75501
The city lists six lighted outdoor pickleball courts plus weekly recreational pickleball inside a park and community-center campus. Check the official Southwest Center page or call (903) 798-3978 for the current activity time, court status, and access rules. Do not count the eight new courts as open until the city confirms construction is complete.
For Arkansas-side park updates, review the City of Texarkana, Arkansas parks page; it does not currently publish a recurring pickleball schedule.
Lessons and Beginner Play
The Texarkana Pickleball Club lists skills classes among its member benefits but does not publish a dependable recurring beginner time. A new player should use the club's official contact form and ask for the next introductory class or beginner-friendly member play day at Southwest Center. Private instruction options are also available through the pickleball coach directory; confirm venue, cost, and experience level directly with the coach.
Open Play, Leagues, and Events
Southwest Center says pickleball is among its weekly recreational activities, but it does not post the day and time on the facility page. Call the center for the current schedule rather than treating normal park hours as organized play. The Texarkana Pickleball Club news and events page is the local source for member play days, skills classes, leagues, and tournaments as they are announced.
For Visitors and Solo Players
A solo visitor should check the Texarkana PlayTime Scheduler for a current session, then confirm the organizer, skill level, and attendance. The club's contact form is a second route to active players. Before crossing to Southwest Center, call (903) 798-3978 to verify court availability and the week's recreational session. Bring a paddle, outdoor balls, water, and court shoes; an open court alone does not guarantee opponents.
